Greetings everyone, this is Rémy and i am going to review these so called "nihonto" behing sold over at http://www.thaitsukisword.com/

I want to inform persons that might be new to the world of Japanese swords that these blades being sold by thaitsukisword are not actual Japanese sword but fancy replicas, no matter what their website states and i also wish that someone looking to buy a katana find this review while searching google for information. Know that i blame only myself (and maybe their marketing managment) for buying this thinking this was geniune.

From their website they claim to be using traditional technics to make their swords, lets do some quoting from the description found on the USA version of their website shall we. On the american website it reads:

"The Thaitsuki Japanese Samurai Katana Series keep true to the samurai code, "To strive for perfection"."
Thats a good start,
All Katanas produced by the family run Thaitsuki Forge are all handmade with the highest standards and attention to detail.
Even better!
From the perfectly wrapped Ito, to the handmade Kashira, Menuki, Tsuba and Fuchi, each piece is made from skilled craftsmen that specialize and take pride in their art. The Habaki, Menuki, Fuchi and Kashira are handmade from quality silver. The Tsuka is skilkefuly wrapped with only the leather or silk and only genuine Ray skin is used. The Saya is crafted from hard wood then carefully lacquered and the Koiguchi is made from genuine black horn. The blade is hand forged from only the best High Carbon - Japanese Steel and perfectly balanced.
Amazing!
Each Japanese Katana comes with it's own individual serial number and certificate from Thaitsuki Nihonto so you can trace it back to when and by whom it was made. Each katana is handmade and the fittings are handcrafted so no katana will be ever be exactly alike. Each katana is it's own, one of a kind, work of art.
Grea... wait a minute, a serial number.. w-what?

Okay now that i am done fooling around i will show you some pictures of the actual thing i received, it is the KTN4 so this would be concidered the top of the line of what they offer, apparently. I do not mind them selling these kind of blades but what kind of bug me is that they call them "nihonto" and "Japanese" when in fact they are made in Thailand, out of solid steel bars with a "mei" that is machine stamped on the tang... On with the evidences.
