Stephen -- this set was on Yahoo! Japan about a week ago and the seller pulled it rom sale at about 825000 Y. This price seems a bit 'optimistic' but then I am not up on the maker or that market. We will see what happens.

Sorin is a big maker and the work is quite nice. Not sure what you guys are seeing. Would I pay 38k for it? No but for Juyo kodogu Machibori signed set it is not out of the question. :dunno: Stephen will send you an email later picked up something up your alley.

Sorry David. Its been awhile. CYRUS

Hi (Please added name it is the Nihonto Message Board rules.),

I agree. It is a really nice set of Juyo Tosogu with a very interesting subject for sale on eBay. Love how the tiger is rendered in the composition on the tsuba and the other matching set of sword fittings. The only problem is I don't think I will be having $38,000 anytime soon to spend on this hobby or any hobby for that matter. :(

Hiya Cyrus. Good to hear from you again. Hope I might have a chance to meet you again in Vegas in Jan, you guys going?

I agree the work is quite nice. But at that level, it has to not just be quite nice, it has to be truly great.

Is it great work? I am not sure, but since it is papered, and in iron...and Juyo, it is not a beginner set. If it is worth $38K, or whatever price is offered, then it will sell. It is not a crazy price for fittings at this level, I agree with those that say it is maybe a bit optimistic though.

I have mentioned before that ongoing auction discussion should not be about price, and therefore any further discussion should be on the work or the artist please guys.
