Koopyetz Posted November 15, 2014 Author Report Posted November 15, 2014 Found this http://www.nihontoantiques.com/fss593.htm Appears to be same smith . Mei looks like one on sword I asked to be translated. Thanks again Rick Quote
george trotter Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 The Akinori who was a student of Kurihara Akihide (as mentioned in the sale link) was Sato Akinori of Saitama. I have only seen his mei in normal kanji, but this could be his work. A normal kanji mei of Akinori can be seen in Slough p.21 Pity you can't show us some pics of the blade and activity. Koopyetz Posted November 15, 2014 Author Report Posted November 15, 2014 The sword was sold a few years ago as part of an effort to give my wife a good Christmas . The photos came back to me recently after my dad died. I gave them to him . I decide to post them here in hopes of a translation. The translation helped me find the site where another sword by the smith was for sale. Akinori was the first sword I purchased. I enjoyed it while it was with me. Quote
