Alan Morton Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 John , you are asking people to spend over $6000 dollars You have got to do better or you will be ignored. Every body is interested in new swords for sale even if they don't have the money but some do, you have got to do better if you are serious Alan Quote
Brian Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Reuben, Everybody signs with a first name at least, unless it is their username. That's the rules. Please sign your posts too, thanks. Brian Quote
gumanthon Posted November 15, 2014 Author Report Posted November 15, 2014 Hello Alan, Thank you for your observations. I live in England and since the government & eBay have made it impossible to trade in this subject I have lost all interest in my hobby. Of course I am serious about selling. The two long blades are worth around £3000.00 and the rest of the bits & pieces, including the two small blades I thought would have small value in comparison. But if more info is required such as sizes or photo's of anything I am quite happy to provide them. With Regards John. Quote
Dr Fox Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 Hi John I am also in the UK and sort have seen where your thinking is. But if you will allow might I make a suggestion? First looking at your sales, it looks like a garage clear out. That only gives the impression, that low value items are being lotted together to justify the price asked. Although I am sure it is not your intention, there is I feel a better option. I would! Separate the blades, and offer each as an individual item, having an asking price in line with the blades quality. Offer as a lot all the Gunto items at a price, and invite offers. Why? The opportunity to purchase a blade at a reasonable price, would be attractive to a wider market than the total cost of the lot, as you have offered. There are a lot of Gunto enthusiasts, who are always on the look out for spares and ‘handy bits’. You might find there is a market here in the UK. Quote
gumanthon Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 Hi Denis, Thank you for your suggestions. I think you are probably right. Also anyone living in the UK who were seriously interested would be welcome to view and perhaps I could meet them half way. Also it would save on postage. With Regards John. Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 What would be your asking price for the ō-suriage blade with the deep zori ? The blade with the biggest curve. KM Quote
gumanthon Posted November 17, 2014 Author Report Posted November 17, 2014 Hello KM, Thank you for your interest. If I am going to split this lot up I would be wanting £2100.00 for the for the blade with the biggest curve. With Regards John. Quote
Dr Fox Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Hi John I am sticking my oar in again. Grab an opportunity to photograph the sword that KM asked about, and showing it at its best, offer it in the for sales. Nowt to lose my friend. But could arouse intrest. Quote
gumanthon Posted November 20, 2014 Author Report Posted November 20, 2014 Hi Denis OK Thank you, I will Regards John. Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Thank you for the info John, I personally think that the deep sori sword might be the most interesting agewise. Would be good to take extra pictures and post it separately in the F/S section. Still out of my budget though, but that means someone else could be made happy with it If I were you though I would split the entire collection in parts. Tsuka, tsuba, saya, swords. KM Quote
Travc14 Posted November 28, 2014 Report Posted November 28, 2014 Hi John, I sent you a PM, but I would be interested in the gunto parts and maybe even both of the wakizashi blades. Let me know if you are still thinking of splitting everything up. Cheers, Travis Quote
gumanthon Posted November 29, 2014 Author Report Posted November 29, 2014 Hi Travis I am sorry for the delay in answering you. Thank you for your interest. No I am selling them all separately now with the pieces attached. With Regards John. Quote
Travc14 Posted November 29, 2014 Report Posted November 29, 2014 No worries. I'm still interested in the wakizashis once you figure out how much you want for them. Cheers, Travis Quote
