Jason Williams Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Request some information on a TSUBA I have attached to this post. It came with the Nihonto I purchased last year and I was wondering if anyone has seen one like this in the past? I don't have any concerns about it just interested in some information. I have been told it was from the Edo period but that is the extent of the information. I am not sure what the pattern is supposed to represent. Thank you, Jason Quote
Gunome Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Hello, The design is a nata, a Japanese tool, and 2 udenuki ana. I could be wrong, but it looks more recent than edo. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Request some information on a Tsuka (TSUBA?) I have attached to this post. It came with the Nihonto I purchased last year and I was wounding (wondering?) if anyone has seen one like this in the past? ...... Jason, if you turn the photo 90° to the right you may probably see a NATA, a Japanese hatchet. It is frequently seen, I even have a TSUBA with a NATA for sale. Quote
