help with badge/medal

I have a Japanese badge or pin, I have never seen one like this before, came anyone tell me what it is or is for?

Hi, it looks like an Order of the Golden Kite Medal with Bow Rosette, 2nd Class (10 folds). Not sure about the medal below.

I don't think so. None of the actual Golden Kite medals (see sitemap page) are close to yours.

I can't even find a couple that I have The site is really hard to use; having to click a hundred

or more links to see the various medals. Might be easier to send him a picture and ask.

I thought if no one recognized it at least the label on the box or inside the from cover might say what it is then I could search that

What you have here is a Special Members Badge for the Imperial Soldier's Relief League. This was founded in 1937 and it was set up to provided ecomonic and social support for wounded soldier. Look on pp 27-8 of In the name of a living God by Murphy and Akley.

Sorry, I don't have that book. Was just looking on the referred to website.

I did find mine: Rising Sun 7th Class and Sino-Japanese War medal 1894.

Both in correct boxes. Also have two silver Paulonia leaf drops from 7th order

of Rising Sun: one I use for a fob on my pocket watch strap; the other my wife

wears as a pretty silver necklace.
