Gunome Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 Hello, Even if there is not a long yakidashi, I would go on a shinto osafune blade Quote
mr botanical Posted November 4, 2014 Author Report Posted November 4, 2014 Hello, Even if there is not a long yakidashi, I would go on a shinto osafune blade good eye and on an area with poor photo I just went through my pics I have 2 that kinda show Yakidashi past the hamachi quite possibly im mistaken I'm looking into it now, will try to resize some shots, blade hides so much from my camera "phone cam " is a pain , this blade was picked up for study at a very fair price, so got no worries on this one, still got a LOT to learn so your guys experience is invaluable If your eyes catch something "suspect" or want a specific shot just ask Quote
Lance Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 I agree with Sebastien, Shinto Bizen-Osafune. Looking at the hamon maybe one of the many Shinto Sukesada smiths. I attached an old (poor quality) picture of a Shinto wakizashi signed Sukesada I have to compare, Also a picture of Mount Fuji, if you look at the individual peaks on the hamon of your sword it has a strong resemblance, I think it originally started out as a gunome midare with the top called "crab claw" and evolved/became a more rigid pattern; you can often see variations of this on Shinto Sukesada or related smiths. . Hope this is of some use, Lance Quote
