reeder Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 This is another blade sent to me by my friend I'm assisting. One side is sloppily cut and I'm having a tough time reading. The 2nd side I think I have, but having a brain-fart on the 3rd mei. I'm not sure if this is one he's buying, helping another friend, selling or what. Maybe I'll get some rest and try again tomorrow. TIA. Pic 1 1) aki 2) ? 3) ? 4) Yoshi Pic 2 1) shi 2) mozuke 3) looks like a fancy ju, this is one I recognize and just can't get it 4) ni Quote

george trotter Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 The second inscription seems to be a slogan: maybe ICHI NO KEN JI (or fu, futatsu etc etc) I am not sure of the reading but maybe "double strength/health in the city and the field" probably meaning a good luck saying to a soldier wherever he has to fight. This is one for Morita sensei or Moriyama sensei or Kunitaro sensei I think. Hope this helps, Quote
cabowen Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 First one in Hattori Kiyonobu. Second is Ichino Kenji. This seems to be a personal, rather than smith name. Quote
