Nikolas Posted September 13, 2014 Report Posted September 13, 2014 hello gentlemen, here is a fuchi/kashira pair where i would consider a multi nanako punch (6/8 dots) was used to cover the main area of the surface and only near the ornaments a single punch filled up the gaps... i think this was quite common or is it way off and my eyes are greetings! Kevin Adams Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 I'm thinking it would likely be a single punch, or a series of them to be rotated out as they wore down. A single punch allows greater control in how the pattern is applied, as well as being more versatile. Quote
Brian Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 IIRC, Ford also said that while multi-punches existed, mostly a single punch was used for control. Brian Quote
