tokashikibob Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Thought I share this in case someone's interested, auction company can sure write a Rah-Rah description. Auction is tomorrow, you can google Estate Auction Company 848 East Chocolate Avenue Hershey , Pennsylvania if this is anyone's interest. Best regards, Bob Estimated Price: $25,000 - $150,000 Description: Folks up for auction now is a, extremely rare, museum quality, miniature samurai sword, from the 1500s.... "Signed" (refer to pictures to see signature). This exceptional sword, measures approximately 16 inches long, however, it is made exactly like a mature males full-length temple sword. We had this sword professionally authenticated! Whereupon, we were told, they had never seen a samurai sword like this, and that this sword was made for the son of royalty, the son of a Emperor. This exceptional sword, has a full shark skin scabbard, completely solid silver mounted, silver TSuba, and a fine solid silver, signed punch knife, mounted on the side of the scabbard. This exceptionally fine samurai sword was brought back from World War II, by a vet. Along with the pictures, which will be included with the sword. This sword is signed beautifully on the tang, by a renowned maker. Please refer to photos to see the signed Tang. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy the only known miniature "signed samurai sword" in the world. This sword has never before been offered for sale! Quote

kusunokimasahige Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Some auctioneers are just totally mental...... But the buyer who falls for it and would pay top dollar is even more mental if you ask me..... KM Quote
Lance Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 I saw this in person a couple months ago: happened to be speaking to a dealer at a militaria show in Allentown PA when one of the people from the auction showed it to him for an opinion and I gave some info too, while it was a better than usual example, and the fittings were very good quality, especially considering how small it actually is, tsuka and fuchi are smaller and thinner than an index finger (missing kojiri though) the info given wasn't quite as enthusiastic as this, maybe someone else was more impressed. Regards, Lance Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 The Auction house in question already was in the news with a not so nice sale : https://m2.facebook.com/stopskullsale?v ... KEeCGKXPfL http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... anned.html Quote

Brian Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 It's not eBay, it is the seller that has disabled questions. And it is an auction. If he wanted offers, he would have added that option. Brian Quote
Stephen Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 he does have that option may be that its out of USA thats stopping your offer Quote

It is sad that he blocked offers from elsewhere because he has cut the price he could potentially get. Oh well.
