Uechi Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Is there an English Index available for Wakayama's three voliume work? JDromm Quote
Thierry BERNARD Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I don't think so! but perhaps you can ask to Grey Doffin Quote
Grey Doffin Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I've never heard of an English index to the book. Be great if there was one. Grey Quote
Uechi Posted September 6, 2014 Author Report Posted September 6, 2014 I did find that you can cross reference artists in Robert Haynes 3 vol index to Wakayama index. The listing in his Index will be a W ( for Wakayama )-I, II or III ( for volume number) and - 1 etc. ( for page number ). A big help, translate the Mei then go to Haynes then go to the page in Wakayma if appropriate/listed to verify Mei. JDromm Quote
Grey Doffin Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 In other words, Robert Haynes' Index is an English index of Wakayama's 3 volume set. Grey Quote
Uechi Posted September 7, 2014 Author Report Posted September 7, 2014 In other words, Robert Haynes' Index is an English index of Wakayama's 3 volume set.Grey Grey I don't know. It does appear that way but someone would have to compare them artists for artist. Obviously, Bob's Index covers more artists then Wakayama. His is a listing of know artists without pictures while Wakayama's most useful for identifying correct Mei's versus Gimei. Quote
Grey Doffin Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 What I'm saying Jeff, is if you have Haynes' Index you have an English index of Wakayama. No need to check the 2 books together; I'm sure Robert Haynes got it correct. Grey Quote
sohei Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 I paid Markus to put one together. It is extremely handy, I use it all the time. I will send it to Brian to put with the others. Mike Quote
bone Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 *sigh* Great. More books to buy. I've got to get to some shows. Reading is great but it's better to see and feel to understand what the words are describing. Not a lot of shows near NW Arkansas though. Quote
Brian Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Received the email from Mike. Thank you very much Mike. That is truly outstanding that you would share this with us after having had it done commercially. Will upload it here and to the articles section later today. Brian Quote
