Sword Translation Help

Hello folks! I acquired this piece today. Can someone please assist me in translating these blade markings and the marking on the scabbard. Thanks!

?Kanbun? ni ju roku nen hachi gatsu hi

 

on the scrabbard.. ? chikanaga saku ?

 

hope somebody can enlight us both :D

Of course none of this matters if Nikolas has got Kanbun right but I can't make out the nengo.

you are correct about the nengo, i could not make it out.

i can now also see "ei" ...

 

we get closer :D

anyway for me the nakago does not have the finish i would expect of Oei

but what do i know

Yes, Sorry, it is up to Matt to post the pictures, one cannot expect anything with these pictures. I have seen quite a few Oei nakago rust eaten.

Sorry, Matt, useless pictures. Please provide pictures of the naked blade, both sides, Same for nakago including munemachi/hamachi and nakago jiri, both side of kissaki and last picture from above of the hamachi and the nakago.

 

 

Except the signature/date, nothing can be learned from your pictures
