forgive some cleaning wax may still be in the mei, Is this Kofu ju Masayoshi?

Asking why the seppa dai does not have the patina as rest of the tsuba, made late menji?? 7cmx7.25cm

any and all info will help a lot.

Yes, I believe so; 江府住正義. It just seems that it was cleaned to read the signature to me. John

other side is the same John, know very little, should have read Tosogu for years.

Perhaps some moisture under the seppa on both sides caused light surface corrosion and this was cleaned off.

This gets my vote. You can still see heavier corrosion around the seppa dai where it is much lighter everywhere else.

 

I guess it could be that new oxidation formed after the patina was stripped or it could be that it went deep to begin with and was never completely removed.
