Threads marking themselves as read

Occasionally while reading messages on the board, I find that the system automatically marks the threads as read. Has this happened to anyone else?

 

I usually start at the for sale section and work my way up to the general discussion forum. When I finish with the for sale bit, all the threads are marked as read and I don't know where I left off.

They are only unread posts since your last visit/session. So if you log in, and don't read all the posts...and exit, then the next time you log in, it will only show the unread posts since your last visit and the ones you didn't read last time will now be marked as read. Perhaps while you are reading, you are either taking a break so that it thinks you have logged out and come back again, or for some reason it is picking it up as a new session.

I usually open the main page, and open all the new sections in new tabs so that I can go through them. Most new browsers have tabbed browsing.

I will increase the session time to an hour and see if that helps.

Make sure youstay logged in through the whole session too.
