Chriso Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Hi all, I picked up this Gunto a few years back and the only information that i have been able to find is that I think it was made by KaneNori @ Seki about 1943. The sword itself is unremarkable, with standard fittings I am looking for any info or comments to help me on my way. It doesn't help that I don't read Japanese script. Regards and thanks Chris o Quote
cabowen Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Made by Kojima Kanenori of Noshu (Seki). With Seki stamp. This is a non-traditionally made WWII era blade. 1943 is about right.... Quote
Chriso Posted July 29, 2014 Author Report Posted July 29, 2014 Thanks for that Chris. Any info at all will build on what i currently don't have. I'm hopeful that i may be able to get some info regarding the maker Regards Chriso Quote
reeder Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 I believe this kanenori is in sloughs, I could be wrong though and will have to look when I get home. Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 Just google "Kojima Kanenori". He's a pretty well know Seki smith. Ryujin has some descent comments on him here: http://www.ryujinswords.com/kanenori.htm Quote

Chriso Posted July 30, 2014 Author Report Posted July 30, 2014 Very much appreciated, thanks Klaus. I've had so much good info that i will put up my second Gunto (which has a hot stamp) later today, perhaps I can get some information on it that will start off my investigation. Best wishes Chriso Quote
