AikiScott1 Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 I am looking for a set of original Kai Gunto koshirae with same covered saya. The dimensions of the blade I had in mind for this koshirae are as follows: nagasa: 27.5 inches (70 cm), Tori Sori 5/8 inches (1.5 cm), motohaba 1 & 1/8 inches (3 cm), sakihaba 7/8 inches (2 cm), motogasane 1/4 inch ( 3/4 cm), sakigasane 7/32 inches (1/2 cm), and nakago length 7 inches (18 cm). I am looking to spend around $700 but would pay more for a set with family mon. Thank you and have a great day.---Scott M.

AikiScott1 Posted July 5, 2014 Author Report Posted July 5, 2014 It is very nice, but the sori is too deep for my blade.--Scott M.
cabowen Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 It is very unusual to find any WWII era blade at 27.5", never mind a navy mounted blade as they tend to be shorter in general. Matching a blade to a saya is also extremely difficult. Trying to accomplish both may be a nearly impossible task. You would have much better luck just having a new saya made using the fittings from a kaigunto koshirae.
