John A Stuart Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 正則 Masanori I believe. Showa date. John Quote
george trotter Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 John is correct...Masanori. Date is Oct. 1944. Stamp on mune of nakago is probably "gi" in a sakura blosson (Gifu) and the small one on the tang proper is "Seki", the swordmaking centre in Gifu prefecture. His real name was Noro Kokichi and he was registered to make military swords on 28 Sept. 1939. It is oil tempered showato. Hope this helps, Quote
