Medina San1 Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Here are two different sword oils which is better both have all the info in Japanese. Dan.. Quote
Cornerst0ne Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 I think I saw that bottom bottle listed as a Cameila oil when I was getting some oil for my bokken.. Justgoogled 'sword oil' - http://www.nihonzashi.com/sword_maintenance.aspx There is a smaller newer bottle with the same kanji- that tall plastic bottle with swords on it you have is camelia oil. Most likely with a very low water content, for sword care. Any way I make no recommendation as to what is better. Hank- Quote
cabowen Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 The small bottle is most likely choji oil made for swords, the large bottle is, as said, camellia oil, which is used for edged tools, and can be used for swords. The small bottle with the cork appears quite old....Of the two, I would use the camellia oil. Quote
sanjuro Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Medina san. Buy both... use the camelia oil in the big bottle and send the little bottle to me. As a side line I collect old Japanese choji oil and sword oil bottles if and when I can find them. :D Quote
