LakeBum Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 I'm thinking this is not traditional because it has a stamp and the Habaki looks off. Because of the price and condition of the blade I am leaving it up to the experts. Do you guys think this is a traditional blade or not? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Beautiful-Japan ... 5664941349 Thank you for your time! Quote
drdata Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 Looks like a seki stamp, which would make it non traditional in some fashion, likely oil quench and/or mill steel. The BIN price is not terrible, but there is no koshiria and pics may hide issues that could affect value. HTHs Quote
Brian Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 It has a Seki stamp. Therefore it is a Showato and not traditionally made. Brian Quote
LakeBum Posted May 1, 2014 Author Report Posted May 1, 2014 Thank you for the quick replies! I appreciate the affirmation that is it not traditional. I was pretty sure it was not, but I thought I would ask just to make sure. Quote
