Looks like a seki stamp, which would make it non traditional in some fashion, likely oil quench and/or mill steel.

 

The BIN price is not terrible, but there is no koshiria and pics may hide issues that could affect value.

I appreciate the affirmation that is it not traditional. I was pretty sure it was not, but I thought I would ask just to make sure.
