takakage Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 Likely this nobukazu is the pupil of korekazu like this one. http://www.e-sword.jp/sale/2013/1310_3034syousai.htm Quote
cisco-san Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 most likley this smith (from Markus´s book): Nobukazu (信一), Genji (元治, 1864-1865), Tanba – „Unju Fujiwara Nobukazu saku“ (運寿藤原信一作), „Tanba no Kuni Ayabe-jū Katō Unju Nobukazu saku“ (丹波国綾部住加藤運寿信一作), „Tanba Ayabe-shin Katō Nobukazu“ (丹波綾部臣加藤信一), „Ishidō Unju Fujiwara Nobukazu“ (石堂運寿藤原信一), he was student of Unju Korekazu (是一) and was allowed to use his gō „Unju“ (運寿), he worked for Tanba´s Ayabe fief (綾部藩) which was ruled by the Kuki family (九鬼), but he worked from Edo´s Azabu (麻布), we know blades from the Ansei (安政, 1854-1860) to the Meiji era (明治, 1868-1912) Quote
Stephen Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 What is the nagasa on this, maybe Otanto? or is it just the pix and my failing mind. Quote
takakage Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 Often for such tanto, nagasa are short and small motohaba. http://www.e-sword.jp/sale/2014/1410_3011syousai.htm Quote
Brian Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 Like Stephen, I have a hard time seeing this as anything except a tanto. What is the nagasa? Brian Quote
ROKUJURO Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 .....I believe this is a nagamaki naoshi style..... Looks more like KANMURI OTOSHI ZUKURI. Quote

truelotus Posted March 18, 2014 Author Report Posted March 18, 2014 What is the nagasa on this, maybe Otanto? or is it just the pix and my failing mind. I am now asking the owner about the nagasa ... as pictures can be deceiving ... I believe this should be wakizashi, but my eyes can be wrong without a ruler Quote
