Understand that shinsas can be best guesses but it helps if the people making evaluations are known, respected and highly proficient. J Dromm Quote
Soshin Posted March 7, 2014 Report Posted March 7, 2014 Hi Jeffrey A., Many of the NTKK papered tsuba listed on eBay are also cross listed on the Yahoo Japan auction website. Here is want information I have I hope you find it helpful. NTKK is a Japanese sword fittings (tosogu) only organization run by a few dealers in the Osaka area. The chairman of the organization is the author of the book Tsuba no Bi a Mr. S. Kajima. I have a copy of this Japanese book which has many photos of tsuba well over 300 and have found it helpful at times in my research. I am of the opinion that NTKK paper added no value to the item as I consider it a written opinion of a dealer. Another example would be the written opinion issued by Aoi Art http://www.aoijapan.com a shop in Tokyo. On my website all of the fittings that are papered are done so by one of the three major organizations: NBTHK, NTHK, and NTHK-NPO. Each item also has my own written opinion which I consider completely free. I hope you find this information helpful. P.S. Please check out my website for more helpful information. The link is below in my signature. Quote
Soshin Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 Hi JDromm, I came across this website with information about these papers in Japanese: http://www.musasiya.co.jp/token.htm. The website is for the shop located in Osaka that issues all of the NTKK papers for tosogu. Hope you find the information helpful. Always buy the item and not the paper or the box. Quote
