Frank Reile Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Has anyone been able to locate Eric Roush ? I, along with many others, am looking for a current address and phone number. Frank R Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Frank, before sending ANY of your business to Mr. Roush, please do a search on NMB to see what others think of his "prowess." Ken Quote

Ken Ken, from the tone of the post, it could seem that Frank is not offering work, perhaps his reference to 'others' is a clue? Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 I provided an address for Mr. Roush which can be found with a quick search. But to save time, he's located at http://www.loopnet.com/Listing/18208799/771-B-Freedom-Blvd-Watsonville-CA/, or at least he was in late December. Ken Quote
Brian Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 This is him: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-MISFITS ... 258a89491f Perhaps a court order to eBay or Paypal would reveal some contact info. Of course, anyone winning that auction might be able to ask for an address to send payment to, or a Paypal email... Brian Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Has anyone contacted law enforcement yet? Quote
zentsuji2 Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 We should start an nmb most wanted list. Name and shame the eBay fraudsters, bad polishers etc. Rewards sent to nmb funds. Regards.Ian b Any reference to anybody, has been omitted, to protect the boards integrity Quote
Frank Reile Posted March 4, 2014 Author Report Posted March 4, 2014 Yesterday I called the Santa Cruz Sheriffs department and the California Attorney general. If more of his victims do the same, maybe they will help us out. Frank R Quote
hxv Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Frank, For what it's worth, you are doing the right thing by reporting to law enforcement. It may not do any good as the wheel of justice is often downright sluggish and non-functional, but at least you are not going down without a fight. Best of luck to you and others in the same situation. Regards, Hoanh Quote
cuttingedge59 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Good on you Frank , Have tried a similar action myself but being out of country they tend to ignore my correspondence. Would strongly sugguest anyone in country follow Franks action . Time to shut his guy down for good. Must mention the help I am getting from the board members especially Matt Lapoint who has been outstanding. Chris M Quote
Brian Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Make sure this doesn't belong to anyone here? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Japanese-sword- ... 258b9000e7 Brian Quote
Dr Fox Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 The Eric Roush Non Appreciation Society. Is this a possibility? Could you not! Gather together, as many aggrieved parties as possible on to one list, and then as a collective take up a lawful case, sharing legal costs? Quote
Stephen Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 anyone in Cali ever ask him if he can hand pick up? Quote
kotachi Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 I live in Santa Cruz and am within easy driving distance of his "new shop" and the Watsonville courthouse. Eric has had a Kanezane blade of mine for two and a half years now and has ignored my communication for several long stretches of time during that period. I actually confronted him with a police officer at his house in August before he moved but he assured us both the sword would be finished in a month and he had actually done some "work" on it. Like an idiot I let him keep the blade and he gave me a few more bunk deadlines before ignoring me again. I have this week off work and plan on trying to track him down and if not file a small claims suit against him. Any advice from members who have gone through similar situations as I have never had to sue anyone before? Also it may help to try and establish how many peoples items he still has as he told the police officer with me last August he only had three blades to finish polishing and then he was going to just be a dealer not a polisher. -Jay G Quote
Alex A Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 Jay, if i where you, id go get my sword, take some friends as witnesses. Quote
Brian Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 Jay, Wouldn't it be easier to file a stolen property report, and then take the police to where you locate him? This needs more than a small claims filing imho. Brian Quote
Frank Reile Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 Jay, he has two swords of mine still. Frank R. Quote
cuttingedge59 Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Jay , He has one of mine nearly finished ?. If you go visit I can provide photos and would be delighted if you took it away and then we can sort from there . Live out of country so a tough one to sort for me. Chris Quote
Alex A Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Jay, Frank and Chris. Hope you dont mind me asking, have you paid him any money up front?. As he ever asked for more money with excuses like "is there any chance you could send me $300?, i need new stones to finish your blade". Jay, do as you did before, go with the police. My advice previously was spurred on by the fact i had to deal with a similar situation many many years ago, not nihonto related, but a complete pain in the ass. Quote
