I know I can hear you all groan “not e-bay again†but just to clarify you can always find a bargain, cant you?

Take a look at this piece

pre 1800 and reserve not met, I’m not sure about this, some thing is niggling me at the back of my mind “pre 1800 Then I found this, if the first piece is not what it seems then this one has to be genuine, it is his Twin Brother isn’t it for $24,500.

At least this has a link to make an offer, at this point I got a slap from the wife.

Am I just being cynical? Come on you experts! Put me out of my misery, who is going to snap either of these bargains up?

...I'm really no nihonto expert but the blade (especially the hamon) looks like a modern made reproduction (Paul Chen etc.) and not "pre 1800"...

...Do they really think, one would spent so much money on eBay for these pieces :? ?

With all due respect Frank...if you even dreamed that either of these were genuine...you deserve that slap from the wife and a few more for good measure.

Didn't you notice the other 200+ SLO's that the seller has listed?

Oh Jon, you mean they are not even pre 1800 fakes :o I’m gutted I was going to get a loan from the Mrs for two, then I thought about that slap I got from her and that put me off asking  In answer to your question no I did not notice the other 200 I stopped when I found the twin brother.

BTW the first slap was for the suggestion I made when I found the "make an offer button" I did but said it out loud
