Uechi Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 From what I have reaad any good tracing paper will work for Oshigata. Any suggestions on any brand/s? I assume domestic tracing paper that is thin would work but I don't have a clue. Thanks in advance. Quote
Geraint Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 Hi Jeffery, (We are expected to sign all our posts with a name, by the by.) I have found that tracing paper as such is not needed. A very thin and light weight white paper is great. I use a variety of pencils for mine rather than the Japanese materials but whatever technique you use this is certainly the best way of examining a sword in detail, even if you are not too pleased with the results compared to some that are published, the process is certainly worth it. Have fun with this! All the ebst. Quote
flemming Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 I agree with Geraint; I now use "vellum" drafting paper with good result. An old draftsman's electric eraser and an erasing shield are two very handy items to have on hand for oshigata drawing I find. Lloyd Flemming Quote

nagamaki - Franco Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Have not yet received it, however, found and ordered both sheet and a long roll of rice paper from Amazon. Quote
