peterd Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 I was looking through some older posts (http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16917), where I found a post from raiden of a tsuba with a seal on the back (I've added this picture below). I recently posted my tsuba and I was told that the seal may indicate the maker (http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16742) and I've also added pictures of this below. I can see some similarities between the two tsuba seals. Is there any information to be gained from this or is it just a coincidence? Kindest regards, Pete Quote
Lorenzo Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 In my opinion the maker have nothing to do with this. Could not the seal plus the dragon make the theme instead? I can't read the second kanji in tensho style, while the first should be 親. So searching with this kanji plus tsuba, plus dragon, I came up with this. 雨龍 安親 (looks like a 雲龍 to me anyways..) Incidentally (?) the second set of kanji indeed reads Yasuchika; because of the first kanji I did not grasp this famous signature at first. I feel I need to stand my idea about the theme though. You can find other tsuba with the same theme in very different style... :? http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/jcbmy121/13811978.html Quote
