While not one of the best horimono I have seen...it is also not the worst. Not Dremeled!

It is traditionally cut. Sword looks like it may have been quite nice. I bet someone offered him $$'s off eBay or he decided to pull it and research the value. Hamon looks well done, some nice nie. Maybe a Shinshinto with a wartime horimono added?

The horimono, while not cut with a dremel, may as well be as it is very badly done.

 

The blade has a gimei Suishinshi Masahide signature I believe. It is possible the owner figured this out, or was told this, and now thinks he has something special. Or, someone made him a big offer based on the signature and he sold it off ebay.

 

No matter, this is one best avoided.
