Sporkkaji Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Did someone add that to try and increase the sale price, or is it original to the blade? http://www.ebay.com/itm/321296838724 Quote
Brian Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 While not one of the best horimono I have seen...it is also not the worst. Not Dremeled! It is traditionally cut. Sword looks like it may have been quite nice. I bet someone offered him $$'s off eBay or he decided to pull it and research the value. Hamon looks well done, some nice nie. Maybe a Shinshinto with a wartime horimono added? Brian Quote
cabowen Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 The horimono, while not cut with a dremel, may as well be as it is very badly done. The blade has a gimei Suishinshi Masahide signature I believe. It is possible the owner figured this out, or was told this, and now thinks he has something special. Or, someone made him a big offer based on the signature and he sold it off ebay. No matter, this is one best avoided. Quote

Robert Housley Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Looks like the Horimono on a PC Kami production Katana. I think the PC one is smaller though. Robert H. Quote
