Kogatana References

Does anyone on the forum know of published articles on kogatana evolution / styles? I thought that John Yumoto and possibly Alan Harvie had published essays on the subject? Thanks.

There is a book on kogatana published in Japanese.

Actually 2 books in Japanese that I know of: Nihonto no Soe Kogatana by Suenaga Masao and Nihonto Kogatana Zuikan by Shibata.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Pete do you have the Toron newsletters by chance? Grey, if you have those two titles, will you have them in Tampa? I am specifically looking for Muromachi and earlier photographs of blades, and/or some scholarly work describing their development from early tosu.

Hi -- sorry, no. I found the information first via Google search then did a page search on http://www.NCJSC.org. Someone here might have those issues though.

Hi Boris,

I can have the books in Tampa but before I'll bring a book to a show I have to fly to I need a commitment to a purchase. I'll need the luggage space on the return trip for books I buy at the show.
