Dear all,

I got round taking pics of some items I'd really like to have identified :)

As a bonus there's also a NTBHK paper. If someone could translate it, that'd be awesome.

many thanks for your help!

Tsuba 1: (bakufu produced I'd say)

attachment.php?attachmentid=663897&d=1388481952

Tsuba 2: Shakudo nanako Tsuba with Shishi and Botan Signed Hidemitsu of Omori (I Think?) and kao

attachment.php?attachmentid=663901&d=1388481985

Fuchi:

attachment.php?attachmentid=663898&d=1388481960

Yari:

attachment.php?attachmentid=663899&d=1388481968

attachment.php?attachmentid=663900&d=1388481976

Saya: If you know which family used this mon?

attachment.php?attachmentid=663903&d=1388482001

Tsuba NTBHK:

attachment.php?attachmentid=663902&d=1388481994

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the link Jean, will do. It'll keep me busy for sometime :)

For the first Tsuba though I doubt being able to read it; only recognize a "e" and nothing else.

That's the one I prefer in my collection so I hope to identify it someday. Brought it when I was in Japan this summer to a pro; he could not identify it either.

Thanks!

For the yari I tried to find the missing ones:

Yari: 出羽大掾??国道作 => 出羽大掾(採文科?)国道作

=> Dewa OJotorumontoga kunimichi Saku ?

Fuchi: 紋乗??

=> Ayanori??

Sorry, I'm not used to this exercise so it is actually quite hard as a start :)

Good work so far Laurent! This is more complicated, however; I do not see Fujiwara...Veli

Neither do I !

Looks like heianjo 平安城 but without the "平" ???

doesn't look like Fujiwara, however it is the only signature which has exactly all the over elements.

Pupil? Name change at at later/earlier stage of the career?

Can't make the Fuchi out for the last 2 kanjis, don't find them either with the radicals or stroke counts :(

Tsuba2: Omori Hidemitsu however I do not think it is it, or a second generation; examples I found were mostly signed Omori Hidemitsu, not Hidemitsu alone and the Kao was different. However the Kao style, signature style and position were right....

Terumitsu look like using another Kanji for his signatures

Or not...

Hmmm...

for the Origami; it is a nanban Tsuba but I don't know what else the paper says :phew:

Thanks, don't own it.

I'll buy it some time, but as you have noticed I am just a mere newbie, so it is a bit early for me to justify the investment :)

Can't see the Kao of the Tsuba.

Thanks Thierry, I'll check that.

Anyway thanks to all, gathered a lot of very useful links since yesterday! The second kiss cool effect of the original thread :)

Good morning Laurent,

The Kamon on your Saya looks like Maruni Sanbon Sugi and is usually displayed the other way up.

I believe it's a depiction of Cedar Leaves.

Cheers

Thank you malcolm!

Regarding Tsuba N°1; can't decipher it :( Found a close, but not identical signature for Sekibun Kano in my books

Tsuba N°2: Came accross this lineage. Is it him? (attached file)

Fuchi: Can't make the last 2 kanjis :(
