Lee Bray Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 I'm having trouble translating this mei that was posted on another forum. I have permission to repost the owner's photographs here for a proper translation. I see ten kanji and read them as - X Tachibana Iga (no) Kami Nyudo Minamoto Mitsuhira. Could someone kindly please fill in the blank and correct any mistakes? Cheers. Quote
Surfson Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Not sure of the first two kanji, but looks like Iga no kami hachido minamoto michihira. First two look like maybe tachibana or ____hashi? Quote

Robert Mormile Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Lee: The first two characters are 法橋. Japanese pronunciation is ほっきょう. English pronunciation is Hokkyo. Robert Quote
Robert Mormile Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Lee: You had it mostly right. It is: Hokkyo Iga (no) Kami Nyudo Minamoto Kikuhira Robert Quote
