lonely panet Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Good morning all, I'm having trouble with a mei translation, Im sure its gimei because the last few characters appear to be cut a bit more sloppy compared to the rest. I'm sure its not as hard as it looks but for the life of me I cant get it and its starting to piss me off too. please can I have some help? Regards Hamish Quote
george trotter Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Hamish san, Good on you for trying, and a small smack for getting Fuji wrong! It reads, KuRuMe ju FujiWara TakeKuni...this might be one of the Takekuni smiths of Kurume in Chikugo about 1670s-1720s period...2 Generations....or gimei. Keep learning... Regards, Quote
Stephen Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 George, is Chikugo...the windy city? Quote
george trotter Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Ha Ha ...my wife is from Chicago. Speaking of chilling winds... Winnipeg is Canada's "Windy City"...the poor traffic cop on the corner of Portage and Main had to dress like this in days gone by. Now you know why I live in Australia. Quote
