sohei Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 Hi, To me it looks like a small bird on a branch, that is a plum (ume) blossom, might be plum blossom and birds motif. It also looks like typical offerings from the many Japanese shops (Zen Gallery, etc) selling now on ebay. On the low end side, but it is matching, and it is Japanese, and the price is great. Nice piece for your first piece. These shops occasionally offer better pieces, so watch for those. My 2 cents. Thanks, Mike Quote
Peter Bleed Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 the kashira shows a bird on the handle of a hoe that has a wooden head with an "iron" edge. Peter Quote
Antti Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 From one beginner to another, eBay is perhaps not the best place to begin this hobby. Check the NMB links section for dealers. This way you also get to see quality stuff to train your eye. Really helped me a lot. I made a bookmark list out of them to my browser, very quick to navigate. Quote
Soshin Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Hi Andrew H., Always remember you almost always get what you pay for in the gallery of zen. Quote
