Bernard Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 Hello everybody, Here is my shakudo nanako tsuba (8.2cm X 7.5 cm). I thought it was fine, until I found the photo of a Goto's tsuba that you already know. In the present case, the old adage "comparison is not reason" doesn't work, I'm afraid. Nevertheless, it's a pleasant tsuba. Regards. Bernard D Quote
Brian Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 I thinks that last picture says it all :D A nice tsuba though...not the same level. Also needs repatination. Brian Quote
docliss Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 With its indifferent nanako, mokkō-gata, heavy rims to the ryo-hitsu and brown discoloration of the seppa-dai, is not Bernard’s latest posting an example of Nagoya-mono work? It is however, I admit, lacking the frequently seen tagane-mei in the nakago-hitsu. John L. Quote
Alex A Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 Good to see comparisons, helps us novices to differentiate, thanks! Alex. Quote
Curgan Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 Still a nice tsuba though (although I am a bit positively biased with soft metal )... BTW how would you repatinate a kinko tsuba? Quote
