Jason Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 ok I've only learnt my lesson from observing you guys on this board and doing some research of my own - and I have just bought some of the resources suggetsed here from Amazon I have also bought some rubbish from ebay sometimes I see "genuine Japanese signed by the smith" blades from China and people are bidding hundreds of dollars for them! its scary and its annoying as well (makes it harder for the genuine collectors) regards Jason Quote
QuangD Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 It seems like they can reproduce art like the original painting. One day, they can reproduce Nihonto and gimei signature like the original work of Nihonto........... We will be flushed Nihonto all over on Ebay.....and certificate Paper...LOL Quote

I'm curious yet another one with a signed tsuba even http://cgi.ebay.com/45-Ancient-Razor-Sh ... dZViewItem going for over $300 - wow Jason Quote
USMC-LCPL Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Holy crap... that guy just copied and pasted stuff from the links on this site! I gotta be honest though, the blade looks pretty good to my untrained eye... Kinda wondering why the tsuba is an obviously Chinese dragon though... and why the tsuka looks like it was wrapped in shoelaces. Yeah... it was the cotton tsuka-ito that made me suspicious... Quote
Guest Simon Rowson Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 You've got to give it to them..... the devious Chinese fakers are getting better all the time! Quote
