Please contribute some pictures here so we will have good reason to cry in our preferred beverages... Quote

Bugyotsuji Posted October 22, 2013 Report Posted October 22, 2013 The Fujiwara Effect. http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%97%A4% ... 9%E6%9E%9C Watch out this weekend for two typhoons (#27 & #28) interacting with each other, called the Fujiwara Effect, like two tops hitting and spinning off unpredictably. Sunday could get bad in Tokyo... Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted October 22, 2013 Report Posted October 22, 2013 Yup was tracking them already since a few of my Japanese friends told me about them. Looks massive. Quote
Curran Posted October 22, 2013 Report Posted October 22, 2013 Heavy rains? I've heard they are attracted to Tokyo when Cyrus is in town. Mike Y or someone else painted a distinct picture of heavy rains, Cyrus' primero shoes, wet tiles, and a heavy backpack lead to some Henry Ford-Chevy Chase moments. Quote
Jacques Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Hi, I was in Japan that summer, weather was both rainy and very hot (sweltering). Quote
Pete Klein Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Well, on top of two Tsunami the Fukushima coast just got a 7.1 quake offshore. No reports of tsunami or damage but it's middle of the night there so I hope all are OK. Update: apparently no damage and only minimal tsunami activity so all seems to be well there. Quote
Henry Wilson Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 It woke me from my slumber down here in Tokyo. http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2013/1 ... oku-coast/ http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-24677578 Quote
John A Stuart Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 That was just me falling out of bed last night. Sorry, it was a long day and my bed is small. John Quote

John A Stuart Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 Ryokan are in the future days, right now just getting acclimatised. BTW, I am not sneaky enough to get pics at the DTI, so our camera ninja will maybe post some. John Quote
b.hennick Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 I had no problem taking pictures at DTI. When I get back home and can upload the pictures I will p post a link. Quote

John A Stuart Posted October 27, 2013 Report Posted October 27, 2013 To John Curgan, nothing to match, I'm sorry. John Quote
Guido Posted October 27, 2013 Report Posted October 27, 2013 I took quite a few pictures at the Yakatabune event, the DTI, and Mr. Kurokawa's party - all in RAW format, so I have to properly process them before showing them here. Give me a few days - I'm still quite busy these coming days - and I'll post them for the usual "who's-who-game". Highlights will include squid tentacles protruding from Cyrus' mouth and many more unique shots :-). Quote
