Hi guys,

I picked up a full length oshigata mounted on a scroll and with a box with hako-gaki, and this might be for sale someday. I'd appreciate some help with the writing, both Romanji and translation where appropriate. I think the date is 5th month of some year in Meiji; correct me if wrong. If someone can recognize the seals that would be wonderful too.

I'm also puzzled by this. It appears to be Bizen-To and Mitsutada is a big Bizen name, but he wouldn't have signed katana mei. I sure think it says Mitsutada but I could be wrong. If not the Bizen Mitsutada do any of you know who this is?

As always, I'm grateful for any assistance. Thank you, Grey

Hi,

This is a Meibutsu sword "Fukushima Mitsutada" scroll oshigata by Honami Koson as Chris said.

The signature on the #4 pic is gold inlay of Honami Kotoku and kao.

And another side of the tang has "Mitsutada" gold inlay by Honami Kotoku.
