Somebody offered a katana to me and it has some writing on the tang - can anybody tell me anything about the smith value etc etc - I believe it is a WWII blade - then again I could be wrong as I'm still a novice....

I identify the kanji as follows;

 

豊佐 作

 

However, I have no information of the smith and I do not know its correct reading. The kanji can reads in too many ways (maybe more than 50 ways) as one's name.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one, unless your post is really relevant and adds to the topic..
