e-bay wakizashi help/oppinion

Hi,

I'm new to the message board, Ive read many of the posts and am impressed with the coopperation and knowledge of the members. I don't own any swords but I do have a small collection of books. I currently looking for a starter blade and was wondering if anyone could offer an oppinion on this wakizashi.

I was wondering if the rust and pitting on the blade would be too expensive to polish out (not a full art polish).

The blade looks pretty much destroyed to me. The geometry is completely gone and the nakago is heavily corroded. The mounts are also pretty poor.

Thanks for the reply and comments. I've checked out some of the blades on link you sent and am still reading the discriptions.

I've been sitting on the fence for awhile...

I'm a newbie too but realised quickly you might as well buy from one of the dealers here (in the links section)

 

most of the ebay stuff that seems to be on ebay is on ebay for a reason :lol:

 

I also really appreciate the knowledge and help some of the "oldies" on the board have and are willing to share

if your a newbie yes you want to stay away from Ebay, we have more than a few NMB members who sell on Ebay so once you know your way around and the sellers, bargains may be found.

Wow, this is great stuff! I've been looking through ebay, and the acid etching- and using mule accounts to buff user ratings, is so rampant I had almost given up...
