johnb Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 God they're sharp. while replacing a rather tight tsuka on a tanto, with of course, the blade wrapped in paper, I made a serious error. The ha was facing my palm rather than facing away from it. Slightly too much presure and hey presto. Straight through the paper and half way through my hand. Six stitches later and a renewed respect for the sharpness of nihonto! Quote
BSA Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 But the important question is "is the blade ok?" Just joking. Quick healing. Quote
johnb Posted June 3, 2007 Author Report Posted June 3, 2007 Don't worry Brandon, I cleaned it thoroughly before going to the hospital!! Quote
ferrylaki Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Don't worry Brandon, I cleaned it thoroughly before going to the hospital!! Be more careful with your other swords John. I guess your katanas are much much sharper than your tanto. Splendid collection you have. I envy you. Quote
johnb Posted June 5, 2007 Author Report Posted June 5, 2007 Cutting test!!!! Brilliant idea. Who do you suggest I get put it on the Nakago? Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted June 10, 2007 Report Posted June 10, 2007 well at least the kami of the sword was properly fed after many years, and probably will protect your family for another 150 years, before new blood needs to be drawn.... KM Quote
