Yep. The signature is totally fake, and I suspect the sword is too. The mei doesn't resemble any real signature at all..not even close.

Post more overall pics of the sword so we can check the rest of it?

It is not a signature.

Reading just as you have placed the pic it reads from left to right in kanji "Bu Shi" and in katakana "Su Ka Fu Mi"

which means Bushi (samurai) sukafumi...I have no idea if sukafumi means anything.

It looks like it was cut with a dremel tool by someone who knows Japanese...maybe a slogan?

A pic of the sword would help as the nakago looks reasonable...sword may not be a fake (from what I can see). Maybe the other side has an inscription also?

Yes, the guys are correct...this side of the nakago looks terrible...pure fake.

the inscription is in Japanese katakana also and seems to say "I-N-Do-Ne-Shi-A" (I think, hard to read upside down-back to front) which is "Indonesia".

So...would have helped save time if we'd seen these pics at the start.

Sorry...it's a fake.

I moved to Indonesia more than a year ago for the sole purpose of learning some silent deadly techniques, like killing with a paper clip. But it seems they're onto me, since the video link you posted is blocked:

So Indonesia and Sukabumi in Japanaese?

Why would somebody put indonesian messages on fake sword?

The sword looks used in the lower metal fitting with lots of scratches like it was often used and weared, and the leather looks old too.

Andreja,

these swords are made by people who have never seen a Japanese sword close enough to be able to copy it, and they are bought by people who know Japanese swords only from bad movies. So everything fits fine, I think.

Scratches are generally not a safe sign of being genuine and Japanese, and 'old' is not a precise term in connection with NIHONTO. Can we agree that it is a sword? Then that is all you can say about it.
