Is this dubble hamon or activity on blade?

Hello,

I kindly ask for explanation of activity which is seen under the Gunome hamon as straight lines along the blade (short and longer). It is shinto blade, made from foreing steel. For untrained eye straight lines looks like dubble hamon, but they are made of thiner lines?

I think this could be caused by different edge steel and skin steel...

Based on the picture I would rather said midare than gunome.

Nevertheless, you could found both : good and bad work with sunagashi. :D

I think that it is sign of Tsukurikomi (construction) such as Hon-Sanmai or Shiho-zume.

is this kind of activity (construction) good or bed according to Nihonto standards. I am also interested if this kind of construction is more common for swords made of nanban tetsu.

I think it would be impossible to know the exact contruction without cutting the sword and polishing the cross section so you could see for sure how it was constructed. All you can really tell is that a different steel was used for the edge, which could suggest several different contruction methods. As far as one being better than another, I think that would also be hard to say... I wonder if there has been any performance comparisons done on different tsukurikomi...
