The katana mei seems to be 武州住藤原助隣 Bushu ju Fujiwara Sukechika.

Your daito is signed Bushu ju Fujiwara Sukechika, a shinto smith from Edo area Yoshisada school. The shoto is Kuniyoshi.John

I can't tell for sure, but the shoto might be Shigekuni tsukuru for the last three kanji... or John may be right with kuniyoshi. A better picture would allow for a full translation, I'm sure.

Signatures are

Katana : 武州住藤原助隣 Bushu ju Fujiwara Sukechika

Wakizashi : 於南紀重国造 oite Nanki Shigekuni tsukuru

 

but, unfortunately both signatures are not good.

Yasurime of sukechika should be Takanoha Yasuri.

And when you see Togidame, Nakago patina line is too straight, which is meaning that Patina is done later.

As you see the wakizashi, Sugata is not right for Kanbun-kanei priod. Boshi is re-polished later by armature person. which meaning is that there is something wrong with the boshi.

 

When you see the Koshirae,

Tsukamaki is not original from Edo period, probably it was new tsukamaki when it got issued paper at 1965, which meaning that is not sure if Fuchigashira and Menuki are original from Koshirae. Menuki needs to examine the back of object to proof its originality.

 

I think that both blades and Koshirae will not get new Hozon paper.

and I think that these swords have been NBTHK and NTHK shinsa more than a few time in the past.

They were selling this with old papers because, they didn't get new papers...

 

In Japan, The buyer can always ask " Could you guarantee the item will get New Hozon ?"

the seller must answer Yes or No...

Japanese dealers and collectors know exactly what they are selling.

however, if the signature is good, The seller would write "Hozon guarantee!!" in big letter in the description.

Japanese dealer or collector will not sell less than its value.
