bubba-san Posted December 15, 2012 Report Posted December 15, 2012 Hello folks , I picked this up at a knife show in Chicago . It appears to have some stylized kanji and what appears to be some english ( ED) ???? can someone tell what they say ? I guess its some sort of family inscription ?? Material is shakudo with some gold kinroe? I havent seen fuchi in this style . Thanks . James Quote
Brian Posted December 15, 2012 Report Posted December 15, 2012  That doesn't read "ED" I suspect they are depictions of ancient Japanese seal script. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_script Just designs basically...not representing too much specifically. Brian Quote
Toryu2020 Posted December 15, 2012 Report Posted December 15, 2012 They are all kanji, they are all shown upside down... -t Quote
bubba-san Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 Interesting , I was just joking about "Ed" I t does look like Ed though..... Should be able to read kanji better than I do .... Can't see too well anymore . Getting time for some cataract surgery eventually . I wonder what the kanji translates to ? thanks James Quote
