Geraint Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Here you go Matt. Looks like a nice find to me, hope it all works out. The oshigata is from Art and The Sword, Vol. 2 Very worth while getting hold of if you are looking into these smiths. All the best. (Sorry, idiot moment, this is the Ist gen, I will catch up in a bit.} Quote
NihontoEurope Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Matt, NIDAI and SANDAI: /Martin Quote
Geraint Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 So this is Nidai, same source. Sorry about that, long day. I see Martin has found some for you too. Art and the Sword has two oshigata for the san dai and suggests an early style mei and a later style one. I can post them if you want. Quote

Gunome Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 kiri yasurime in your nakago doesn't match with shodai, nidai and sandai work maybe yondai/godai ? After godai, the Nobutaka smith didn't have the "Hoki no kami" title Quote

Jacques Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 Hi, A gassaku by 5 & 6 generations (if i read correctly mei is totally engraved by the godai). About yasurime, they still don't match. Quote
Curran Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 Post the pictures for Fred Geyer. This is his sweet spot and a school I like. I'd follow his advice on Owari Shinto. Quote
