I found interesting documents at Kyushu University Digital Archives.

That is "NIPPON" first edition by Philipp Franz Balthasar von Siebold.

These volumes were published at Leiden in 1832-1851.

Among the above volumes, Vol. 4 includes Japanese armor and arms.

Great find Moriyama san :)

There are some excellent pages there...going to take me ages to go through them.

I see some of the naginata excercises from the Knutsen book were in this book, and many other good pics. Some interesting weapons shown that I had not associated with Japan before too.
