John A Stuart Posted November 22, 2012 Report Posted November 22, 2012 If I was in England I would definitely attend this. We are offering a special opportunity to discover museum areas not normally open to the public and to explore the inner workings of the UK’s National Museum of Arms and Armour. Get up close to the collection, meet our expert curators and dine in the unique setting of the Hunting Gallery. Thom Richardson, Keeper of Armour & Oriental Collections and Karen Watts, Senior Curator of Armour & Art, will give you a guided tour of the collection, where you will hear the fascinating stories surrounding each object and join in a discussion with the museum experts. A real treat for the true enthusiast will be the opportunity to explore the amazing reserve collections on a tour of the museum stores. Only a very small percentage of our collection is on display and this is a rare chance to see the superb range of museum objects and explore the collection's breadth and historical significance. This special behind the scenes experience includes a handling session, store tour and three-course dinner in the Hunting Gallery. When: Saturday 19 January 2013 Where: Royal Armouries, Leeds How much: Only £200 per person, age 16+ How to book: 0113 220 1888 bookings@armouries.org.uk or book online here. Quote
