george trotter Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 I think the last 2 kanji are his name...looks like Hidenaga? I am not sure of the reading of the first 3 but they don't appear in any of my books. There are quite a number of makers named Hidenaga...maybe 8? Hope this helps, Quote

k morita Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Mr.Richter, you are great! Hi David, Could you please take a close‐up pic of the 4th semi-cursive script Kanji. Because,I am thinking that the 4th kanji is Seki 関 or En 圓 Quote
george trotter Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Wow, my eyes are really getting bad...I didn't even see the "ichi". I thought this was Hidetoshi also, but my Hara 1905 p.20 lists it as Hidenaga and does not have it under Hidetoshi at all... My Wakayama says this Hidetoshi is family name Omori.Lived in Edo at end of Edo period. Sorry for wrong reading, Regards, Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Could you please take a close‐up pic of the 4th semi-cursive script Kanji. Pardon, don't know if this will be helpful, but here is the result after playing around with an image program. .jpg] Quote
