For those who have forgotten their basic chemistry:

You must have to be a chemist to appreciate this 'holiday'. I just got home from work at the lab and even there, the biologists and microbiologists didn't have a proper appreciation of its significance.

 

One of the most vivid memories I have of undergraduate chem classes was one where a TA from another country was trying to explain the difference between molarity and molality with a very thick accent: he could not pronounce 'l' or 'r'. We kept him going in circles for 45min... Not very nice, maybe, but we did think it funny.
