Mike Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 I can recommend Mr. Zenon Van Damme in Belgium, he had professionally restored for me an antique saya with black urushi. His web site is http://www.japaneseart.be/index.asp?taal=uk Mike Quote
Jean Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 Zenon is the top one artist in Europe for Nihonto lacquer Quote
Mike Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 Zenon is the top one artist in Europe for Nihonto lacquer and a nice person as well Mike Quote
Brian Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 Yes..but not in the US Not sure if Robert Soanes also does saya or whether he keeps to armour restorations. But also not in the USA. I have heard Moses Becerra tackles saya restorations in the US. Worth going through the commercial links above, as well as those on Dr Stein's site at http://home.earthlink.net/~steinrl/sites2.htm Brian Quote
Sam Elliott Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 I have seen several saya that were done by John Tirado, and the work was spectacular. Another name to toss in the ring Quote
