gbonanza Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Has anyone had any experience with Nick Ricupero of Nihonto Art of Montreal Canada. Nihontoart.com Thanks George Quote
muromachiman Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Hi George, I dealt with Mr. Ricupero almost 2 years ago.... picked up a nice Katana thats still on my display wall today. I haven't been following his collection for a little while but he tends to have nice stuff. You thinking of buying? Cheers, Mike Quote
drbvac Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Have been tempted from the site BUT haven't heard anything from anyone that I am acquainted with or even know at all - wonder where he gets his nihonto ? He has to have a source in Japan that must sell to him in bulk because I don't recall seeing many of the blades on the site anywhere else? Quote
samuraidenis Posted September 28, 2012 Report Posted September 28, 2012 You're right, haven't seen his swords on other sites. He has a nice collection and I was thinking of meeting him in person to see one. Spoke to him on the phone once, nice guy. Not sure if I'll be able to afford it but definitely considering. Quote
gbonanza Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 Thanks for the responses. Nick seems like a really nice guy but you know how that can go. I am also wondering where he gets his nihonto. Many of them has NBTHK papers. I am interested in purchasing a nihonto from him. George Quote
korsaire Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 i think i have read on is site or from descrition on ebay that he travel to Japan and buy there or by contact that he had made over there Quote
samuraidenis Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 That's what he told me when i spoke to him too. Off topic but if you're ever in the Montreal area you should check out the exhibition on Samurai in Old Montreal. It's a personal collection of a professor, Richard Beliveau and it's quite something! here's the link: http://pacmusee.qc.ca/en/exhibitions/samurai-the-prestigious-collection-of-richard-beliveau Quote

sven hauck Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Late reaction to an old topic, but I purchased my first blade from Nick this year. Nice guy, not pushy and he likes to educate buyers no matter how many questions they have. Will buy from him again. Quote
